Conferences

As part of our many services, the Institute for Operational Excellence hosts private conferences for companies that would like to educate their employees or their supply chain on Operational Excellence.

Why Have IOE Host Your Conference?

The focus of these conferences is to provide in-depth, hands-on knowledge of Operational Excellence to the attendees, as well as how to apply the principles in their environment. Because of the focused alignment of the organization around the principles of Operational Excellence, the organization is able to quickly make the ‘jump’ to Operational Excellence.

What's Included?

A typical conference consists of a keynote address by the founder of the Institute, Kevin J. Duggan, who delivers a ‘paradigm shift’ talk on Operational Excellence. This includes the principles of Operational Excellence and how companies who have applied these principles have “leap-frogged” other companies that have been doing continuous improvement for over 15 years. Kevin will also provide an overview of the step-by-step approach to creating operational excellence, and share what the best companies are doing using these principles.

Immediately following the Keynote address, attendees are broken into groups of about 30 – 40 and participate in five detailed workshops that build upon each other. These workshops will provide detailed knowledge in creating value streams that flow on the manufacturing floor as well as in the office and the supply chain.

As a result, attendees will learn a significant amount of practical knowledge that can be used when they return to their respective operations.

How Long Does a Conference Last?

The conference length can be one to two days. In a one day session, there are five workshops, each approximately 45 minutes in length. Each workshop is taught by an instructor interacting with the participants. In the two day session, each workshop is approximately 2 hours in length, allowing time for students to do activities and exercises to enhance and apply the learning.

Each conference can be customized in length and content to fit the needs of each company. Recommended conference size can be from 75 to 500 attendees.

Testimonials

“We trusted Kevin's team of instructors to conduct our external supplier conference. Kevin’s address, "Creating Operational Excellence," was an excellent means to introduce our suppliers to our goal of Operational Excellence. The workshops were exceptional and provided hands on training for our attendees. The overall conference was a success, and I would recommend any organization to consider the Institute for facilitating their private conferences.”

“With this multi-national executive team having years of experience in lean, Kevin’s presentation gave us several recommendations on how our efforts can quickly move our company further to achieve Operational Excellence. Kevin’s methodology explained not only how we can accelerate our improvement journey, but provided the details on how to have each employee clearly understand and attain Operational Excellence. After visiting one of our factories, Kevin’s presentation also included practical examples from our operations. A natural presenter, I would recommend the Institute to keynote at any public or private conference about lean or Operational Excellence.”
